June arrived with record-breaking heat in parts of Western Europe. Temperatures climbed well above what many were used to, with \u201cfeels-like\u201d temperatures pushing past 38\u00b0C and in places like Portugal, reaching close to 48\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For some, it was simply too hot. Campsites struggled, plans changed, and a few travellers decided it was time to move on sooner than expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For others? It was exactly what they\u2019d been hoping for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>July continued in much the same way, especially across Southern Europe. Italy and Greece saw temperatures well into the mid-40s, and long, sun-soaked days became the norm. Some stayed put, settled into the rhythm of early mornings, long siestas, and evenings outside once the heat softened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then August surprised many of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As temperatures eased in the south, the heat shifted north. Parts of Norway, Sweden, and Finland experienced an intense two-week heatwave, with temperatures over 30\u00b0C lasting far longer than usual. For those who headed north looking for cooler air, it was a reminder that even the best-laid plans can change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Did_the_Weather_Change_Your_Plans?\">Did the Weather Change Your Plans?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>For many travellers, the summer weather shaped decisions in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Stay longer in the sun because conditions felt perfect?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Move on earlier than planned because the heat became too much?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Head north or towards the coast in search of cooler evenings?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Or adapt your routine \u2014 travelling early, resting during the hottest hours, and enjoying nights outdoors?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no single way to travel this summer and that was part of what made it memorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Where Did 2025 Take You?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back now, beyond the temperatures and destinations, it\u2019s often the small moments that stand out most. A quiet campsite after a long, hot day. An unexpected change of route.
